What to Know Before Buying a Turmeric Supplement

Turmeric, and most notably curcumin, is complicated — it's not absorbed well in the body. "The bioavailability of curcumin is rather low," Dr. Li says. "Combiningcurcumin with black pepperor its extracts can raise its blood levels."
